ACADEMIC APPOINTMENTS – All ACADEMIC RANKS
The Faculty of Law at Western University invites applications for probationary (tenure-track) appointments at the rank of Assistant Professor or tenured appointments at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, depending on qualifications and experience, from qualified candidates in the areas of environmental and sustainable development law and policy. The ability to teach Property Law would also be an asset. Applicants must have a JD, LLB or equivalent degree, as well as a relevant advanced graduate degree or its equivalent.
Candidates may also be considered for Limited Term appointments, rank to be determined by qualifications and experience.
The appointments are expected to commence July 1, 2017, although alternate starting dates may be arranged. The goal of Western Law in its appointment process is to demonstrate its commitment to excellence in teaching and research, and to promote a law program that is both rigorous and challenging.
Candidates considered for a probationary appointment must have a superior academic record and demonstrated record of, or a strong potential for, excellence in scholarly research and teaching. In addition, they should have the ability and willingness to contribute to the intellectual and scholarly life of the Faculty community and to the University more generally. Candidates considered for appointments with tenure must have an outstanding academic record with a strong record of scholarship in academic outlets and significant experience in teaching. The successful applicants will be expected to teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, contribute to and support our interdisciplinary graduate programs, including in relation to sustainable resource development, establish a productive research program as well as provide leadership in the Faculty of Law.
