This position is responsible for aspects of preaward research administration with a specialty focus on grant and contract development. Emphasis for this position will be on international subaward agreements and prime contracts.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (or work equivalent)
Minimum of one to three years of relevant work experience is required.
Extensive knowledge of legal contracts, contract development/compliance, business analytics and negotiation skills.
PC computer skills including Word (Track Changes function), Excel, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in business administration or related field with a focus in business analytics, or JD or equivalent combination of BA or BS education and relevant experience.
Strong communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills-experience with the ability to work in a collegial manner and maintain effective relationships with a variety of persons, internal and external to the organization.
Experience in the acquisition, analysis, and application of business analytics for performing risk assessment of potential contractors and overall research administration.
Experience in the interpretation and application of statutes and regulations.
Ability to prioritize, exercise sound judgment and discretion, meet deadlines, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders and meet inflexible deadlines on own initiative or as a contributor to a team-effort.
Must possess, or be able to swiftly develop, knowledge of the university’s mission, processes, organization, and its culture and complex relationships with internal and external entities.
3 years of experience in Grants and Contract Administration.
Professional certification in the field such as Certified Research Administrator (CRA), Certified Pre-Award Research Administrator (CPRA), or other similar research administration professional certifications.
Familiarity with computerized reports, sponsored programs budgeting, financial accounting systems, and research suite software.
Familiarity with the Federal Acquisition Regulations, OMB Circulars, and working knowledge of research compliance (IRB, IACUC, COI, IP, and other regulatory requirements).
Familiarity with typical issues associated with university-industry contract negotiations.
