The Faculty of Law at the University of Copenhagen invites applications for a position as Assistant Professor in European Law and Integration. The position is available from 1 January 2010 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The applicant is expected to participate in the European Research at the University of Copenhagen Programme EURECO hosted jointly by the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Humanities. The aim of the Programme is to promote and coordinate excellent research and educational initiatives relating to European matters.

Required qualifications and job description
The applicant must be able to document scholarly achievements and qualifications at Ph.D.-level. Emphasis will be placed on theoretical and empirical research experience as well as teaching experience and pedagogical qualifications.
The main duties and responsibilities attached to the position are:
•Research within the field of European law and integration.
•Teaching, supervision and examination of undergraduate (Bachelor) and graduate (Master) students at the Faculty of Law.
•Performance of administrative tasks related to research and education.
•Participation in the Faculty’s comprehensive strategy regarding internationalization.
•Participation in the Faculty’s dissemination of research based knowledge to the surrounding society.
An applicant with no previous proficiency in Danish must be willing to develop sufficient language skills in order to integrate into the everyday life of the Faculty.

Salary and terms of employment
The position implies a 3-year appointment in accordance with the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (Akademikernes Centralorganisation, AC). In addition to the basic salary, an annual increment of DKK. 48.452 (as per 1 April 2009) are paid.
Participation in the Faculty’s educational programme for assistant professors will be required.
Application

Appendix 3: Documentation regarding the applicant’s education.
Appendix 4: Complete numbered list of publications.
Appendix 5: A maximum of 10 scientific publications that the applicant wishes to be included in the assessment, of which no more than three may be monographs.
Appendix 6: An account of the applicant’s vision regarding research, education and dissemination, including the projects international aspect and specifications of potential plans of research abroad.

In addition to the material which the applicant wishes to include in the assessment, the Assessment Committee may require further material to assess the applicant. It is the applicant’s responsibility to provide such supplementary material should this be requested.
If works are cited of which the applicant is a co-author, a co-author declaration concerning the applicant's share of these works must be submitted. Material not yet published can be submitted. Please note if this is the case.
Application procedure
An acknowledgment of the receipt of the application will be issued, and applicants will be kept informed about the process of the application procedure on a regular basis via email. Following the application deadline, the Dean, on the recommendation of the Academic Council, will set up an expert Assessment Committee. When the committee has completed its assessment, each applicant will receive the portion of the overall assessment that specifically refers to her/him. Interviews will be held with qualified applicants.
Upon the completion of the application process, only original material will be returned.
