Victoria University of Wellington’s Faculty of Law/Te Kura Tātai Ture is currently seeking applications for one or more permanent academic positions. While we are looking for academics at the Lecturer/Pukenga level, we would be interested in seeing applications up to Associate Professor level.

The successful applicant will have a postgraduate law degree and a record of excellence in scholarship and teaching, with any practical experience considered where relevant. We invite general applications, but in particular we would very much welcome applications from academics who can teach Land, Property and Natural Resources, Criminal Law, Torts, Contract, Ethics, Taxation, Family Law, Law and Technology, Civil Procedure, Legal Research and Writing, and Legal System.

Housed in the historic Old Government Buildings, opposite Parliament and adjacent to the Supreme Court, our Faculty is located in New Zealand’s legal and political heart. We aim to provide a collegial environment for world-class scholars, and to support them as leaders in legal research, teaching, and engagement – both nationally and internationally.

Victoria’s Faculty of Law/Te Kura Tātai Ture was ranked in the top 40 in the 2018 QS World University Rankings by Subject, and first in New Zealand for research quality in the Tertiary Education Commission’s Performance Based Research Fund (PBRF) Quality Evaluation.

If you’d like to join a capital-city university with a global outlook, and believe you have a contribution to make toward excellence in legal scholarship and education, then we want to hear from you.
