Sydney Law School is looking to appoint a talented and highly engaged scholar at the level of Lecturer (Level B) with a strong interest and capacity for innovative teaching and curriculum development in the field of Legal Ethics and/or Evidence. The successful applicant will be committed to building a research program related to legal professionalism and the ethics of lawyering and legal practice, and / or the law of evidence and its application.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • delivery of outstanding teaching and learning outcomes
  • contributes to knowledge within discipline or area of expertise including undertaking original research (either independently or as part of a team)
  • contributes to the research, education and administrative activities of University of Sydney Law School
  • actively supports the strategic direction of the University
  • engages beyond the University through conferences, seminars and outreach activities.

About you

  • a completed PhD in a relevant field (or near completion)
  • demonstrated success in designing, implementing and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives in the areas of Corporate Law; Tax; Legal Practice and/or Law Evidence
  • developing network of relationships with key academic, industry and professional institutions, partners and stakeholders
  • experience in supervising or mentoring others and/or coordinating team activities
  • developing research profile evidenced by original, high-quality and independent research in the discipline or area of expertise
  • deep and broad experience in teaching and learning, as evidenced by participation in team teaching within an established program and experience in teaching in a variety of settings
  • a developing knowledge and understanding of the key strategic issues in the discipline and higher education sector.
