Position Overview
The University of Kansas School of Law invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Visiting Professor/Visiting Associate Professor for the Fall 2023 semester or the full 2023-24 Academic Year.
The law school seeks candidates with demonstrated scholarly achievement and teaching excellence in the areas of Evidence and Torts. Our primary need is to offer Evidence and Torts in the fall semester. For applicants interested in serving for both semesters, teaching responsibilities for the spring semester will be negotiated with the Dean.

A Visiting Professor/Visiting Associate Professor in a full-year position would teach three courses and in a one-semester position would teach two courses.
Job Description
For a full academic year appointment, duties include the following:
Teaching (50%)
Teach three courses. This includes class preparation, meeting and counseling students, and administering final exams.
Research (40%)
Conduct and publish research.
Service (10%)
Provide some service to the law school, university, and the legal profession.
For a fall semester appointment, duties include the following:
Teaching (65%)
Teach two courses. This includes class preparation, meeting and counseling students, and administering final exams.
Research (25%)
Conduct and publish research.
Service (10%)
Provide some service to the law school, university, and the legal profession.
Required Qualifications
For appointment as Visiting Associate Professor:
JD from an ABA accredited law school.
Demonstrated outstanding academic and legal performance.
At least 2 years law school experience teaching Evidence.
For appointment as Visiting Professor:
JD from an ABA accredited law school.
Demonstrated outstanding academic and legal performance.
Minimum of 7 years law school experience teaching Evidence.
Preferred Qualifications
For appointment as Visiting Professor/Associate Professor:
Law school experience teaching Torts.
