Position description


Berkeley Law invites applications from untenured candidates for full-time tenure-track faculty positions. We welcome applications from candidates across all areas of law, although subject areas of particular interest include Administrative Law, Business Law, Private Law, Employment and Labor Law, Environmental and Energy Law, Environmental Justice, Civil Procedure, Intellectual Property, Criminal Procedure and Law, Health Law, National Security Law, Race and Law, and Tax.

Berkeley Law is interested in candidates who have demonstrated a commitment to excellence by providing leadership in teaching, research and service toward building an equitable and diverse scholarly environment.

The department is committed to addressing the family needs of faculty, including dual career couples and single parents. We are also interested in candidates who have had non-traditional career paths or who have taken time off for family reasons, or who have achieved excellence in careers outside academia. Candidates must either: a) hold a J.D. or equivalent international degree by date of application, or b) hold or have advanced to candidacy status for a Ph.D., or equivalent international degree, by date of application.
Additional qualifications (required at time of start)

Candidates who do not hold a J.D. degree, but who have advanced to candidacy status for a Ph.D. or equivalent international degree, must have the Ph.D. or equivalent international degree conferred by the start date.
