Nova Southeastern University (NSU), a private Carnegie R1 Research University experiencing great momentum in research and scholarship, invites inquiries, nominations, and applications for the position of dean of the Shepard Broad College of Law.

The dean of the Shepard Broad College of Law (referred to as NSU Law) will be a motivating, broad-minded leader and legal professional who will inspire the faculty and staff to model NSU's Core Values with an emphasis on student centeredness.

The dean will play a pivotal role in fundraising efforts, focusing on securing financial support for scholarships and enhancing the college's programs and initiatives. In addition, the dean will lead the strategic planning process for NSU Law, setting long-term goals and priorities that align with the university's mission and vision. This includes identifying opportunities for growth, innovation, and improvement in all aspects of the college's operations. The dean will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve bar passage rates, including enhancing academic support services, providing targeted bar exam preparation, and fostering a culture of excellence and accountability among students and faculty. The dean must be adaptable to the evolving landscape of legal education, spearheading innovative programs and leveraging the strengths of NSU Law's unique offerings, such as its clinical program, LL.M. program, online Master's programs, Bachelor's program and paralegal program. This position presents a significant opportunity to influence the future direction of the NSU Law and make a lasting impact on its students, faculty, and the greater Broward community.

Candidates should possess demonstrated ability and experience to raise funds, improve bar passage and manage a large, complex budget. In addition, the dean will provide leadership and strategic vision, work well in a collaborative, decision-making environment with key constituencies, and have demonstrated organizational and management skills to lead path-breaking legal education.

At minimum, applicants will possess a J.D. degree and will have an outstanding record of accomplishment in the legal academy, the practice of law, or the judiciary, demonstrating a level of intellectual leadership and accomplishment warranting appointment at the rank of Professor of Law. The next dean will be a successful teacher and mentor, excel at fundraising, be a proven administrator, and demonstrate commitment to student success.
