The University at Buffalo School of Law invites applications for the position of Visiting Lecturer in Law in its Legal Analysis, Writing, and Research (LAWR) Program. The LAWR Program provides intensive skills training to first-, second-, and third-year law students with a strong emphasis on small-group and individual learning.

This position involves a full-time 12-month University appointment for one year, beginning in the summer of 2022. Position will be filled at a salary of $65,000 – $70,000 per year depending on experience. Applications will be accepted until the position has been filled.

  • The Lecturer will be expected to teach one section of LAWR each semester in conjunction with the Law School’s library and academic staff.
  • Lecturers will be expected to prepare their own lesson plans and research and writing projects, and will collaborate with the other Legal Skills Faculty.
  • The LAWR Program, which is part of a broader Skills Program, includes two courses that are required for first-year students. In future years, it will also include a third required course that is open only to second- and third-year students.
  • Lecturers will be expected to teach all three courses on a rotating basis. Lecturers are also expected to contribute to the intellectual life of the school, will have the opportunity to serve on faculty committees and vote in Faculty meetings, and will be encouraged to pursue broader teaching and scholarly activities.

The University at Buffalo is an affirmative action equal opportunity employer and, in keeping with our commitment, welcomes all to apply including veterans and individuals with disabilities.
