Position Summary
NORTHERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY (NIU) COLLEGE OF LAW invites applications for a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Post-Doctoral Fellow. The position is a two-year fellowship, starting in the 2022 – 2023 academic year. The Fellow will be expected to develop a scholarly agenda in one or more of the following areas: law and gender and/or sexuality, feminist legal theory, race and the law, civil rights, and family law. In addition, the Fellow will be expected to teach one law course for each year of the fellowship, which will be cross listed with a course offered at the Center for the Study of Women, Gender, and Sexuality. Duties include an ability to engage in high quality research and teaching, as well as being an active participant in law school and university service, including the mentoring and advising of students in related fields. We especially encourage applications by those who are underrepresented in their academic fields. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must possess a Ph.D. or J.D. degree (awarded at the time of the commencement of the fellowship). Applicants must possess an ability to engage in high quality research and teaching, as well as an ability to be an active participant in law school and university service, including the mentoring and advising of students in related fields. Finally, applicants must have a strong interest in engaging with both the College of Law and NIU’s Center for the Study of Women, Gender, and Sexuality.
