Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Law and Faculty Director of the Graduate Tax Program

Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law and the Villanova School of Business seek a distinguished tax practitioner to lead their Graduate Tax Program beginning in January 2019. The interdisciplinary Graduate Tax Program, which is jointly run by the Law School and the School of Business, has over 200 full and part-time students enrolled in both on-campus and online courses. It offers a Master of Laws in Taxation (LLM) for lawyers and a Master of Taxation (MT) for non-lawyers, as well as Certificate Programs in specialized areas of taxation. The Faculty Director is responsible for leading and managing the Graduate Tax Program's academic programs, including faculty, curriculum, and teaching.
This continuing, full-time, 12-month, non-tenure-track faculty position will be filled at the Assistant/Associate or Full Professor level depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications. The appointment is contingent on the candidate serving as the Faculty Director of the Graduate Tax Program.

Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee the Graduate Tax Programs curriculum.
Oversee the Programs teaching, including providing pedagogical support for courses in both on-campus and online formats.
Manage adjunct faculty.
Coordinate involvement of the full-time faculty of both the Business School and Law School.
Counsel students on academic, professional development and employment issues.
Develop and implement an effective marketing and outreach plan to ensure the Program continues to grow its student enrollment.
Cultivate relationships with alumni and tax professionals in the academy and private sector to attract qualified students and to assist our students with employment opportunities.
Teach courses in the Program.
A Juris Doctor degree or Certified Public Accountant certificate is required.
Five years of relevant tax practice experience is required.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
Excellent teaching ability is required.
Expertise in relevant substantive areas is required.
The ideal candidate would be an experienced tax practitioner with excellent leadership and management skills who has some teaching experience in academia (e.g., as an adjunct professor). However, prior academic experience is not a requirement.
A Master of Laws in Taxation (LLM) or Master of Taxation (MT) degree is preferred.
Prior teaching experience is preferred.
