The Faculty of Law at Thompson Rivers University (TRU Law) invites applications from candidates with a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and collegial governance. We expect to fill one position, subject to budgetary approval. The position will be a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or a tenured appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor, depending on qualifications and experience. The appointment is expected to start on July 1, 2025.
While open to applications from candidates in all research and teaching areas, the Committee is especially interested in individuals with scholarly and teaching interests in required courses in our curriculum or in business law. We encourage all applicants to identify any areas of teaching interest falling in the core JD curriculum.

Qualifications
Ordinarily, applicants must have a JD (or equivalent) and a completed or in-progress PhD. The Committee also welcomes applicants without a completed or in-progress PhD, where they have, in addition to a JD (or equivalent), an LLM (or equivalent) coupled with extensive research or practice experience. Applicants should have the ability and willingness to contribute to the intellectual and scholarly life of the Faculty, and the University more generally. Candidates considered for appointment with tenure must have an outstanding record of scholarship as well as a significant record of strong performance in teaching.
